RACHEL VAN HEEL

Soprano

Rachel van Heel was born and educated in Yorkshire and lives in Micklethwaite,Bingley. She is much in demand for concerts and recitals having performed at various churches and stately homes throughout the region. She also fulfils many requests to sing at weddings, banquets and charity functions.

She has made quite a name for herself in Oratorio, singing for various local societies including the Sheffield Bach Choir, Welsh Choral Union, Bradford Festival Choral Society, Wetherby, Holmfirth, Lancaster and Sedburgh School Choral Societies. She was also invited to sing Messiah and Creation for both the National Voices for Hospices Concerts at Bradford Cathedral.

She has taken many principal roles with local opera groups and is on the chorus list with Opera North.

She has won numerous trophies at musical festival around the country, and was a prizewinner at the prestigious International Eisteddfodd at Llangollen.

Rachel is a member of Manchester City Opera, an ambitious group of semi-professional soloists who perform throughout the North West of England at prestigious venues including the Royal College of Music, Manchester Town Hall, Bolton Town Hall and Buxton Festival.

She studies with Barbara Siddelley who is internationally recognised as an eminent singer and teacher with whom she gained the LRAM Performer's Diploma for Singing.
