Following a comprehensive musical training as a choir-boy in churches and cathedrals throughout the North of England Kevin Ormond continued his musical career as a songman with the Bradford Chorister under the direction of Keith Rhodes. Whilst enjoying an exciting and rewarding career in the worldwide medical supply industry Kevin also developed an enviable musical position within Yorkshire. This musical career has covered associations with all the major choral societies and opera groups within Yorkshire as well as the development of a recital platform and work with the BBC. In 2003 Kevin Ormond decided to focus all his time on music and consequently went on to study as a postgraduate student at the Royal Manchester College of Music, under the highly respected tutor Patrick McGuigan.
Kevin Ormond has performed regularly for over 20 years all the major oratorio works and has been pleased to entertain audiences in prestige settings such as Beverley Minster, Hull City Hall, Bath Abbey, Wells Cathedral, Bradford Cathedral and Lincoln Cathedral. In addition Kevin has been chosen on several occasions to work with BBC in local, regional and national broadcasts.
Whilst at college Kevin has taken part in a wide variety of activities including focus on oratorio, stage and opera productions and developing performance language skills.
With the support of Patrick McGuigan, Kevin has developed his stage experience to cover a wide variety of operatic roles with specific focus on the Baritone roles in Verdi Operas. As a result he has performed a variety of leading roles in theatres in York, Leeds and Manchester as well as taking to the concert stage to perform with choral societies in highly popular gala evenings.
Recital work is also important for Kevin and he has been pleased on several occasions to work with other artists both vocal and instrumental in performing specialist evening and lunchtime recitals.
Born in Blackpool, Educated in Bradford with 20 years in Yorkshire Kevin is now pleased to be returning again of the North West and looks forward to continued development of his musical career both in the North of England and throughout the UK.
